Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykola Tomenko believes that the President´s initiative concerning immediate scrutiny of the bill on land market proves that the authorities want to start selling land since January 1, 2012. M. Tomenko made this statement after the Conciliative Council on Monday.
The Deputy Chairman informed that on behalf of the president, his representative asked the parliament to scrutinize the bill on land market immediately. "It means that the authorities want to start selling land since January 1, 2012," M. Tomenko stressed. The Deputy Chairman stated that the scientific experts´ office had analyzed the governmental bill on land market, and recommended recommitting it for the repeated first reading.
M. Tomenko is worried that the president is trying to force scrutiny of the land issue. He reminded that the moratorium on the purchase and sale of agricultural land is effective by January 1, 2012. "Immediate adoption of the bill means that the president´s team wants to start selling land since January 1, 2012," he stated.
